Don’t get caught short! The regulations below are for Atlantic coastal waters only. Please refer to the NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife for the Delaware Bay and other coastal waters.
Summer Flounder (Fluke): must be at least 18 inches. Daily limit of 3 (May 24 – Sep 21)
Blue Crabs: Hard – 4 1/2 inches, soft – 3 1/2 inches, peeler or shredder – 3 inches. Daily limit of one bushel (March 15 – Nov 30)
Striped Bass: Between 28 – 43 inches, daily limit of 1. Greater than 43 inches, daily limit of 1.
Black Sea Bass: must be at least 12.5 inches. Daily limit of 10 fish (May 15 – June 22). Daily limit of 2 (July 1 – Aug 31)
Weakfish: must be at least 13 inches. Daily limit of 1 (Jan 1 – Dec 31)
Tautog: must be at least 15 inches. Daily limit of 1 (Aug 1 – Nov 15).
Winter Flounder: must be at least 12 inches. Daily limit of 2 (March 1 – Dec 31)
Shark: must be at least 54 inches. Daily limit of 1 fish per vessel.
