Whale Creek Marina gets its name from nearby Whale Beach, a strip of sand where whales once regularly beached themselves.

Birds:

Birds that are native to this area include terns, black skimmers and sandpipers, as well as gulls, herons, sanderlings, ducks, and the American Oystercatcher.  There are also different varieties of egrets and numerous osprey.

In fact, within sight of our docks are three osprey nests that have been occupied for the last 5 years.

Fish:

In the bay at Whale Creek Marina, you can look for flounder, blue fish, kingfish, striped bass and weakfish, in addition to mussels, clams, fiddler crabs and blue claw crabs.
